Mass and heat transfer in consolidated adsorbing composites. Effect on the performance of a solid-adsorption heat pump.

Transferts de masse et de chaleur dans les composites adsorbants consolidés. Influence sur les performances d'une pompe à chaleur à adsorption solide.

Summary

The work is part of a study on heat-conducting materials used as adsorbents in solid-adsorption heat pumps. These materials are consolidated composites of expanded natural graphite and zeolite. An experimental characterization of heat and mass transfer parameters was done. The development of these composites led to an increase in refrigerating capacity per unit mass of adsorbant by a factor of 5 (350 watts per kg).
