Summary

HEAT TRANSFER ALONG A VERTICAL BARE PIPE WITH CONDENSATION ON ONE SIDE AND EVAPORATION ON THE OTHER IS AFFECTED BY THE AMOUNT SUPPLIED, TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCES, VAPOUR PRESSURE AND PIPE MATERIAL, THICKNESS AND LENGTH. FOR EVAPORATORS WITH A FALLING FILM, THE TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE PIPE WALL AND EVAPORATION SHOULD BE CONSIDERED. THE OPERATION IS SATISFACTORY IN THE SURFACE EVAPORATION AREA WHERE NO BUBBLES ARE FORMED. THE DIFFERENT HEAT TRANSFER ZONES ARE STUDIED IN DETAIL. (BULL.
