STORAGE CONDITIONS CAN BE IMPROVED BY PROVIDING THE OPERATORS WITH MORE INFORMATION BOTH TO INDICATE CURRENT STATUS AND ALSO SIGNIFICANT TRENDS IN OPERATING CONDITIONS OF COLD STORES ; MICROCOMPUTER WAS SELECTED FOR THIS PURPOSE AND THE MONITORING SYSTEM IS DESCRIBED. TEMPERATURES, DOOR OPENINGS, FROSTING OF COOLERS AND OTHER CONDITIONS ARE DISPLAYED IN DYNAMIC GRAPHICS AND ALSO AS TABULATED DATA ON A VDU SCREEN. THE PRESENT PROGRAM HAS MAINLY A MONITORING AND ANALYTICAL CAPABILITY BUT IT IS HOPED IT WILL EXPAND THE SYSTEM TO PROVIDE CONTROL FUNCTIONS.
