Summary

A NUMERICAL EXPANSION VALVE WAS INSTALLED IN A WATER-WATER HEAT PUMP, IN ORDER TO ANALYZE THE IMPROVEMENTS, RELATIVE TO THE USE OF A THERMOSTATIC EXPANSION VALVE. IMPROVEMENTS ARE SIGNIFICANT UNDER VARYING CONDITIONS AWAY FROM THE DESIGN POINT. A MODELLING OF EXPANSION UNDER TWO-PHASE CONDITIONS IS PROPOSED, FOR OPTIMIZING THE DIAMETER OF EXPANSION ORIFICES. THE MODEL MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO CALCULATE DIFFERENT FLOWS. THE METHOD FROM TAITEL AND DUKLER IS USED FOR PASSING FROM ONE FLOW CONDITION TO ANOTHER.
