Summary

The developments discussed in this paper pertain to a new screw compressor unit with direct evaporation and electronically regulated refrigerant injection. The reduction of the oil system to about half of the dimensions common in previous units with overflow operation led to enhancement of both heat transfer and operating efficiency.
