Summary

VAKOLA is the name of a research centre, which is part of a larger organization and dedicated in general to forest, agricultural and agro-food activities in Finland. The history of this orgnization, and of VAKOLA in particular, is told and the range of research is enumerated. A test plant for insulated bodies for trucks, refrigerated trailers or semitrailers is particularly briefly described. Its purpose is the measurement of K value of these bodies in order to grant them the ATP label, which enables this range of Finland's transport vehicles to be in competition with the European Community vehicles.
