Summary

A general review, with a complete bibliography, of research, currently in progress in Italy on refrigeration technologies for replacing environmentally harmful refrigerants. The contents mainly include theoretical analyses of inverse cycles, computer codes for evaluating the thermodynamic properties of refrigerants and their mixtures, the experimental determination of refrigerant properties, theoretical and experimental studies on heat transfer, test rigs for compression and absorption refrigerating circuits and innovative applications of absorption refrigeration.
