Summary
THE PAPER REFERS TO THE FURTHER DEVELOPMENT OF SMALL 2-STAGE CRYOREFRIGERATORS WITH A VIEW TO CONSIDERABLY ENHANCED OPERATIONAL RELIABILITY. THE FIRST STAGE IS TO PRODUCE LOW TEMPERATURES IN THE RANGE OF 80.. 100 K, THE SECOND STAGE FOR PRODUCING SIMULTANEOUSLY TEMPERATURES BETWEEN 10 AND 20 K. OPERATION IS BASED ON THE GIFFORD-MCMAHON PRINCIPLE AND HELIUM GAS IS USED IN A CLOSED CYCLE. HELIUM COMPRESSOR AND COLD HEAD ARE SEPARATED, SO VIBRATIONS OF THE COMPRESSOR ARE NOT TRANSFERRED TO THE SAMPLE HOLDER OF THE CRYOSTAT OR TO THE BODY OF THE CRYOPUMP. THE MAIN FEATURES OF THE NEW REFRIGERATORS ARE SIMPLICITY OF CONSTRUCTION OF BOTH COLD HEAD AND COMPRESSOR, HIGH OPERATIONAL RELIABILITY AND EASE OF SERVICE. THE CRYOREFRIGERATORS OF ADVANCED DESIGN ARE PARTICULARLY USEFUL FOR COOLING CRYOPUMPS AND CRYOSTATS IN BOTH RESEARCH AND INDUSTRIAL INSTALLATIONS. THE REFRIGERATOR COOLED CRYOSTATS DO NOT REQUIRE ANY SPECIAL A SENSOR, CAN BE PRESET AUTOMATICALLY. CHANGING OF THE SAMPLES TO BE COOLED DOWN IS FACILITATED BY MEANS OF A PUSH-FIT CONNECTION. THIS ALLOWS FITTING OF A VARIETY OF EXPERIMENTAL UNITS AS USED FOR INSTANCE IN LOW TEMPERATURE OPTICAL AND MAGNETIC MEASUREMENTS. TYPICAL MODES OF OPERATION WILL BE DISCUSSED.
