THIS PAPER DESCRIBES A SYSTEM WHICH REDUCES THE ENERGY CONSUMPTION AT THE REFRIGERATED DISPLAY UNIT. PARTICULARLY DISPLAY SHELVINGS AND, TO A LESSER DEGREE, DISPLAY CASES, COVERED WITH INSULATING ELEMENTS AND CONTROLLED BY AN ELECTRONIC ENERGY SAVING UNIT OBTAIN QUITE UNIQUE SAVINGS, WHICH HAS NOT YET BEEN SEEN IN THE MARKET. DEPENDING UPON WHETHER NIGHT-COVERS AND ROLLER BLINDS HAS BEEN USED OR NOT, A REDUCTION IN THE ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTION OF UP TO 50% CAN BE OBTAINED.
