A NEW DESIGN FOR A SOLDER-SEALED DEMOUNTABLE VACUUM CAN THAT CAN BE CYCLED TO LIQUID HELIUM TEMPERATURE IS DESCRIBED. THIS DESIGN IS THE BASIS OF A USED WITH A COMMERCIAL HELIUM STORAGE DEWAR THAT PERMITS RAPID TURNAROUND CRYOGENIC MEASUREMENTS AT TEMPERATURES ABOVE 4.2 K. IT HAS SIGNIFICANT ADVANTAGES OVER GASKET-SEALED DESIGNS FROM THE STANDPOINT OF BULKINESS, WEIGHT, AND RELIABILITY.
