NEW METHOD FOR TESTING AIR FILTERS.

Author(s) : MICHEL J., CHEVALIER P.

Summary

THE AUTHORS BRIEFLY SUMMARIZE THE RESULTS OF CETIAT SHOWING THE LIMITS OF THE ASHRAE 52/76 METHOD AND THEY REPORT THE STUDIES WHICH ENABLED THE DEVELOPMENT OF A MUCH MORE RAPID METHOD, CONSIDERING MORE MANUFACTURER CONCERNS. THE METHOD ENABLES ONE TO DETERMINE THE INITIAL EFFICACIOUSNESS OF FILTERS ACCORDING TO THE GRANULOMETRY OF THE AEROSOL BY MEANS OF AN OPTIC LASER PARTICLE COUNTER AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF EFFICIENCY ACCORDING TO DUST HOLDING. THE STUDY MADE IT POSSIBLE TO DEVELOP A SYNTHETIC AEROSOL AND A LINE OF SAMPLES SUITABLE FOR THE USE OF HIGH CAPACITY PARTICLE COUNTERS.
