THE DEVELOPMENT OF HEAT PUMP HEATING SYSTEMS HAS LED TO THE DESIGN OF THE ENERGY ROOF, IE A CANALISED METALLIC STRUCTURE IN WHICH A WATER-GLYCOL SOLUTION FLOWS, SUPPLYING THE EVAPORATOR OF AN EARTH-WATER HEAT PUMP. EXPLAINS THE CONCEPT OF AN ENERGY ROOF, DESCRIBING HOW IT IS MADE, HOW IT WORKS AS ITS ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES. AFTER ILLUSTRATING SOME TYPES OF INSTALLATION OF THE MOST SUITABLE HEAT PUMP AND AFTER DESCRIBING THE PHYSICAL CONSTRUCTION OF THE ROOFS, SOME OTHER COMPACT ATMOSPHERIC COLLECTION DEVICES ARE ALSO MENTIONED -ENERGY STACKS, PALISADES AND COLUMNS.
