Summary
A new type of scroll wrap profile formed by an involute based on a varying radius circle has been developed. The scroll wrap thickness can be changed gradually with the involute angle. More freedom is achieved in the design of scroll wrap in the area of displacement volume, built-in volume ratio, wrap thickness, and so on. This new wrap profile is expected to contribute to further improvements in scroll compressors.
