NONSTEADY EFFECTS OF HEAT TRANSFER PHENOMENA FROM THERMAL ANEMOMETER PROBES AT LOW AIR VELOCITIES.

Author(s) : PAUL J.

Summary

THERMAL ANEMOMETERS HAVE VARYING CHARACTERISTICS EVEN UNDER STEADY CONDITIONS, IF THERMAL CAPACITY IS SUFFICIENTLY HIGH. DUE TO THE GROWTH AND THE MOVEMENT OF EDDIES IN THE PROBE ENVIRONMENT, THE SIGNAL OF THE ANEMOMETER VARIES. THE FLOW IN A TUBE AND A LAMINAR FREE JET WERE USED IN ORDER TO STUDY THESE EFFECTS. THE FLOW IN A VENTILATED ROOM IS SOMEWHERE BETWEEN THE TWO CASES STUDIED AT THE LABORATORY.
