On the effect of greenhouse gases in the upper atmosphere.

Type of article: Article

Summary

The cooling of the upper atmosphere due to the greenhouse effects is investigated by means of ionospheric data at mid-latitudes. Comparing the results of this study to a former investigation by Bremer (1992) it has been found that on the one hand the effect is not limited to the summer months, on the other hand (in contrast with Bremer's data) it indicates a diurnal variation showing an effect in daytime.
