Summary

OPTIMAL ECONOMIC CONDITIONS FOR OPERATING REFRIGERATION PLANTS AT CHANGING AMBIENT TEMPERATURES, COOLING CAPACITIES ARE ESTABLISHED BY USING CERTAIN THERMAL-ECONOMICAL APPROACHES. AN EQUATION FOR THE EVALUATION OF OPTIMAL OPERATING CONDITIONS FOR A SINGLE STAGE REFRIGERATION INSTALLATION EQUIPPED BY DIRECT COOLING MACHINERY WAS DERIVED BY THE A. RESULTS ON SOME OPTIMISATION CALCULATIONS ALLOWING TO DETERMINE TEMPERATURE DROPS IN HEAT EXCHANGE DEVICES FOR A GIVEN TYPE OF AMBIENT TEMPERATURE VARIATIONS AND CHANGES IN COOLING WATER TEMPERATURE. RESULTING CHANGES IN COMPRESSOR CHAMBER VOLUMES AND PUMP CAPACITIES FOR THE COOLING WATER REQUIRED TO SECURE MINIMAL YEARLY EXPENDITURES ARE DESCRIBED. E.K.
