Optimisation techniques applied to the design of a refrigeration twin screw compressor.

Author(s) : FLEMING J. S., TANG Y.

Summary

A procedure for optimizing the geometrical parameters of a refrigeration twin screw compressor, such as the basic geometrical parameters of its profile and the position of its discharge port etc., was developed by making use of programs developed by th authors and measured values derived from compressor tests. The optimization technique discussed concentrates on the rotor and compressor parameters, such as wrap angles, length/diameter ratiors of rotors and slide valve definition parameters.
