OPTIMIZATION OF PISTON RINGS OF RECIPROCATING COMPRESSORS FOR REFRIGERANTS.

Summary

THE DEVELOPED OPTIMIZATION METHODS FOR THE GEOMETRIC PARAMETERS OF THE PISTON RINGS ENABLE A THEORETICAL DETERMINATION OF A GLIDING PROFILE FOR A PROPER FRICTION BEHAVIOUR AND FOR A MINIMUM PISTON RING WEAR. THE OPTIMIZATION OF DESIGN PARAMETERS OF THE PISTON SEALING ENABLES EITHER AN EFFICIENCY INCREASE OF 25-30% OR A REDUCTION OF THE NUMBER OF SEALING ELEMENTS.
