PREDICTION FOR THE SEALING CHARACTERISTICS OF PISTON RINGS OF A RECIPROCATING COMPRESSOR.

Author(s) : LIU Y., YU Y.

Summary

THE PURPOSE OF THE PAPER IS TO STUDY A METHOD FOR PREDICTING THE SEALING CHARACTERISTICS OF PISTON RINGS AND TO EVALUATE THE SEALING EFFECTS OF LUBRICATING OIL. THE OIL SEALING COEFFICIENT IS INTRODUCED AND CURVES ARE PLOTTED ACCORDING TO THE EXPERIMENTAL DATA. THE CALCULATED CURVES OF BOTH THE PRESSURE IN THE CYLINDER AND IN THE VOLUMES BETWEEN THE RINGS ARE BASICALLY IN AGREEMENT WITH THE CURVES MEASURED, AND THE CALCULATED DATA OF GAS LEAKAGE THROUGH PISTON RINGS ARE APPROXIMATELY EQUIVALENT TO THE DATA MEASURED.
