Summary

The new Italian Bill and related standards concerning the rational use of energy provide for the determination of some parameters that the designer shall check. Special attention shall be paid to the hypothesis that defines these parameters and the designer must know the possible consequences of his choices. In this paper some analyses determinate the surface volume ratio and the adjacent room temperatures have been performed in order to evaluate the different insulation degrees of the building envelope. An alternative proposal similar to the ASHRAE standard is also described.
