Notes German national goals with respect to energy conservation, and concentrates on giving a detailed account of the efforts of the city of Bremen to avoid the use of nuclear power and to reduce CO2 emissions by at least 40% by the year 2010 through the systematic substitution of traditional energy sources by energy conservation, rational energy supply and by renewable energies.
