THE PERCHE SYSTEM (HEAT PUMP SUPPLEMENTING AN EXISTING BOILER) IS A DUAL-ENERGY SYSTEM WHICH HAS THE ADVANTAGE OF COMBINING TWO COMPLEMENTARY ENERGIES IN ORDER TO OPTIMIZE THE QUALITY OF THE SERVICE RENDERED AND OPERATING COSTS, USE ELECTRICITY AT TIMES WHEN ENERGY PRICES ARE THE LOWEST, USE NON-FOSSILE ENERGY, PROVIDE SAFETY IN OPERATION, USE A HEAT PUMP PROVIDING A COP HIGHER THAN 2 BETWEEN POWER APPLIED AND CONSUMED, INCLUDING THE AUXILIARY AND TO USE THE HEAT PUMP ONLY IN MID-SEASONS. SUCH A SYSTEM WAS INSTALLED DURING THE COMPLETE REORGANIZATION OF THE THERMAL PLANT AT THE ST-JULIEN EN GENEVOIS HOSPITAL (550 BEDS), LOCATED NEA T THE HEAT PUMP INSTALLED IS AN AIR-WATER SYSTEM AND DEVELOPS 970 KILOWATTS AT THE CONDENSER.
