Performance analysis of a desiccant air conditioning system.
Author(s) : THOM M., MENON R., SCHAIK R. van
Type of article: Article
Summary
A desiccant evaporative cooling (DEC) system would generally only be viable if operated in the ventilation credit or recirculation modes and if waste heat (60-90 deg C) or solar heating was available for regeneration. These conditions could be met in industrial environments where waste heat is frequently plentiful. Alternatively, DEC systems could be combined with existing conventional systems. Such systems are presently being developed and show the most promising results.
