Summary

AN ANALYSIS IS MADE ON THE FUNDAMENTAL PERFORMANCE OF A TWO-PHASE FLOW SCREW EXPANDER THAT RETRIEVES THE EXPANSION WORK. IN THE ANALYSIS, SATURATED OR SUBCOOLED WORKING FLUID IS INTRODUCED INTO THE EXPANDER AND IT BEGINS TO FLUSH IN THE EXPANDER WITH THE BUBLE DELAY TIME OF 0-3 MILLISEC DURING THE EXPANSION PROCESS. THE RESULTS SHOW THAT THE LEAKAGE IN THE EXPANDER AND THE ROTOR REVOLUTION PLAY IMPORTANT ROLES IN DETERMINING THE INTERNAL EFFICIENCY AND THE FLOW RATIO. (BULL. JSME, JP., 29, N 249, 1986/03, 1071.
