Summary

ADIABATIC TWO-PHASE FLOW OF A SATURATED VAPOUR-LIQUID MIXTURE IN THE TUBE OF CONSTANT CROSS-SECTIONAL AREA IS ANALYSED ACCORDING TO THE CONDITION OF PHASE EQUILIBRIUM. WHEN THE BACK PRESSURE IS MUCH LOWER, THE EXIT VELOCITY EQUALS THE LOCAL VELOCITY OF SOUND WHEN A CRITICAL SITUATION APPEARS. A METHOD CALCULATING THE RESTRICTOR TUBE IS GIVEN. ACCORDING TO THIS METHOD, SOME EXPERIMENTS AND SYSTEMATIC CALCULATIONS WITH R502 ARE CARRIED OUT AND BY USING THESE RESULTS A SET OF CHARTS FOR SELECTING THE R502 RESTRICTOR TUBE WITHOUT REGENERATIVE HEATING IS ESTABLISHED.
