Summary

On the basis of exergetic analysis, performance analysis of an endoreversible simple air refrigeration cycle with constant-temperature heat reservoirs was carried out by using a finite-time thermodynamic method in this paper. The expressions of the cooling load, the ecological function and the exergetic efficiency of the refrigeration cycle were derived. The influences of the pressure ratio of the compressor and the allocation of the heat exchanger inventory on the optimal performance of the cycle were investigated by detailed numerical examples. Moreover, performance comparisons among the ecological optimization objective, exergetic efficiency optimization objective and traditional cooling load optimization objective were performed. The results obtained may provide guidance for the design of operational air refrigeration plants.
