Summary

Simple and practical guidelines have been established for the insulation of chilled water plants (2 to 14 deg C) installed in buildings. They are based on standards NFP 56-306 and 75-411. The most commonly used insulating materials are mentioned. The commissioning is then detailed: protection of the equipment to be insulated. Fixing the insulant with adhesives, joints, various fixing methods, installation of the mechanical outer covering with fixing straps. In the case of external plants, the UV-resistance and waterproofing of the equipment is very important. J.L.
