Reasons for the development of VAV.
Author(s) : MCCOMB J.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The VAV system was introduced to give better performance at part loads, with improved efficiency. A dominant feature is the terminal outlet and its capability to give adequate air distribution at a wide range of air flows. The use of modified constant volume terminals will not give satisfactory conditions. A future development will be cohesive DDC, with feed-back between terminals and the primary plant. This must await a common control protocol. A.R.T.
