Summary

States that the "thermal conductivity design values" of building and insulation materials take account of the influence of the moisture content on the thermal conductivity by means of an appropriate addition to the thermal conductivity of the material in a dry state. In practice the water vapour diffusion flow determined by the overall wall structure forms an energy flow additional to the heat conduction, which can be expressed as an addition to the thermal conductivity or by means of a correction factor for the U-value.
