REDUCING THE PEAKS OF INTERNAL AIR CONDITIONING LOADS BY USE OF TEMPERATURE SWINGS.

Author(s) : STOECKER W. F.

Summary

ALLOWING THE TEMPERATURE OF A CONDITIONED SPACE TO CLIMB DURING HEAVY COOLING LOADS REDUCES THE DEMAND ON THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM AND CAN POTENTIALLY REDUCE ELECTRICAL DEMAND CHARGES. THE BAND OF SPACE TEMPERATURES EXPERIENCED SHOULD, HOWEVER, BE MAINTAINED WITHIN THE COMFORT RANGE. ONE METHOD OF REGULATING THIS SWING IN TEMPERATURE MAY BE TO UTILIZE THE THROTTLING RANGE OF THE SPACE TEMPERATURE CONTROLLER.
