Summary
The author reviews the three main types of techniques used in refrigerant leak detection: Ceramic Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS), Infrared (IR) and ionisation. He lists the factors to be taken into account in the selection of a detection and monitoring system: sensibility, selectivity, velocity of response, number or refrigerants, type of building, number of refrigerating machines. Some examples are given.
