Summary

The presence of non-condensable gases in an installation results in lower refrigeration capacity and in increased power demand. The paper describes how non-condensable gases move about in a cycle and how to eliminate them. The construction and operation of a purger of the firm GRENCO, type NCP, is described; it acts automatically and removes non-condensable gases with minimal losses of refrigerant.
