Provides a brief survey of existing publications on the sick building syndrome. Reviews investigations from several countries. Compares findings of investigations in tables and charts and discusses their significance. Notes the lack of investigations into naturally ventilated buildings which also have a high rate of absenteeism due to illness plus the absence of comparisons studied between air conditioned buildings with and without complaints of sickness.
