Summary
Following the application of aluminium packing for air separation columns as a replacement for aluminium sieve trays used successfully for over 30 years the authors have examined the safety of aluminum packing. From the results obtained, from safety considerations and from extensive technical experience with alminium, it is concluded that aluminium packing is as safe as aluminium sieve trays.
