TO COMPARE DIFFERENT PAIRS USED IN ABSORPTION HEAT PUMPS AND IN MIXING MACHINES, THE AUTHORS PROPOSE TO DEFINE THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA FOR EACH CASE: 1) HEAT PUMP: THERMAL UPGRADING FACTOR, COP AND ENERGY CONTENT OF THE SOLUTION ; AND 2) MIXING-ENGINES: MAXIMUM EXPANSION WORK, RESTITUTION YIELD FOR THE MECHANICAL ENERGY AND ENERGY STORAGE CAPACITY. THEY ESTABLISHED GENERAL EXPRESSIONS FOR THESE CRITERIA AS FUNCTIONS OF THE THERMODYNAMIC DATA FOR EACH REFRIGERANT-SORBENT PAIR.
