Type of article: Article
Summary
STRUCTURAL MSCS WERE PREPARED UNDER VARIOUS CONDITIONS FROM 2 KINDS OF POLYVINYLFORMAL FORMS WITH DIFFERENT CHEMICAL COMPOSITIONS, AND THE SEPARATION-BREAKTHROUGH CHARACTERISTICS OF AIR AT LOW TEMPERATURES (140-300 K) WERE INVESTIGATED IN A PACKED BED OF THE MSC PRODUCED. THE STRUCTURAL MSC WAS FOUND TO BE USEFUL FOR SEPARATING AIR INTO NITROGEN AND OXYGEN AT LOW TEMPERATURES. THE ADSORPTION EQUILIBRIA AND ADSORPTION RATES OF NITROGEN AND OXYGEN WERE MEASURED, AND THE LOW-TEMPERATURE SEPARATION OF AIR WAS FOUND TO BE AFFECTED BY THE INTRAPARTICLE DIFFUSION RATE RATHER THAN BY THE AMOUNT OF ADSORPTION OF EACH COMPONENT.
