A SIMPLIFIED THERMODYNAMIC MODEL FOR MIXTURES AND SOLUTIONS IS PRESENTED. THE EXCESS FUNCTIONS OF BOTH ELECTROLYTE AND NON-ELECTROLYTE MIXTURES AND SOLUTIONS ARE DESCRIBED BY 11 COEFFICIENTS. TEN SUB-ROUTINES FOR COMPUTER CALCULATIONS ARE DERIVED. THIS SIMPLIFIED DESCRIPTION ALLOWS A FIRST THERMODYNAMIC SELECTION TO BE MADE FROM MANY POTENTIAL WORKING PAIRS FOR AN ABSORPTION CYCLE.
