Simulation of falling film absorbers and generators.

Author(s) : JERNQVIST A., KOCKUM H.

Summary

A falling film model for sorption processes involving a binary fluid with one volatile component has been developed. The model is able to resolve the development of velocity, temperature, and concentration gradients, as well as the film thickness. Physical properties including density, enthalpy, viscosity, thermal conductivity, and mass diffusivity are allowed to vary across and along the film. The model has been integrated numerically for different cases and compared to existing literature data, to which the calculated results conformed well.
