Summary
FIVE DIMENSIONLESS PARAMETERS ARE NEEDED TO PUT THE EQUATIONS AND BOUNDARY CONDITIONS INTO THE DIMENSIONLESS FORM. THE EQUATIONS ARE SOLVED BY A FINITE ELEMENT METHOD AND THE RESULTS ARE PRESENTED IN GRAPHS OF NUSSELT AND SHERWOOD VERSUS FOURIER FOR SEVERAL VALUES OF THE DIMENSIONLESS PARAMETERS. THE RESULTS DIFFER SIGNIFICANTLY FROM THOSE FOR PURE HEAT TRANSFER AND PURE MASS TRANSFER. A COMPUTATION SCHEME USING THE DATA FROM THE GRAPHS USED IN THE DESIGN OF A SORPTION SYSTEM IS ALSO PRESENTED.
