Summary

SINCE THE MAGNETIC FIELD DISTRIBUTION IN A SUPERCONDUCTING MAGNET CHANGES FREELY, AND CAN ALSO BE INFLUENCED BY THE EARTH MAGNETIC FIELD, A SPLIT-TYPE SUPERCONDUCTING MAGNET WAS DEVELOPED WITH AN HOMOGENEITY BETTER THAN 1 PPM OVER A 100 MM LENGTH. STABILITY OF THE MAGNETIC FIELD WAS MEASURED BY MEANS OF THE NMR OF A PROTON.
