ARGUMENTS ARE GIVEN FOR THE CHOICE OF ABSORPTION SYSTEMS FOR SOLAR-DRIVEN REFRIGERATION MACHINES. SPECIFIC PROBLEMS CONNECTED WITH THE USE OF SOLAR ENERGY FOR COOLING PURPOSES ARE DISCUSSED AND POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS ARE WORKED OUT. SOME DETAILS ARE GIVEN OF A DESIGN FOR A SMALL COLD STORE FOR DEVELOPING COUNTRIES WHICH WILL BE REALISED IN THE COMING YEARS. SOME SPECIAL PROBLEMS ARE FURTHER DISCUSSED.
