Summary

States that absorption cooling may offer a solution to the refrigeration problem in remote locations. With conventional ammonia-water absorption units at acceptable COP, only temperatures above about minus 20 deg C are accessible. Proposes a two-stage ammonia-water absorption system for temperatures down to minus 70 deg C. Its driving force is heat (not work). Solar energy may well be used.
