Summary

During the summer months, a small solar thermal dish system can provide the energy for cooling. To integrate a solar thermal system using a solar dish collector in the built environment, reduced dimension are required. Essential in its functioning is to capture and concentrate as much as possible form the direct solar radiation and this can be obtained by bi-axial tracking. The conceptual design of a solar thermal system with dish solar collector used for cooling is presented in this paper, based on the Brasov weather data and on a set of requirements targeting efficiency and effectiveness. This solar thermal system with dish collector will be implemented in Brasov area, for cooling an office building.
