Summary

COOLING OF POLYMERS DURING TRANSFORMATION OF THERMOPLASTIC POLYMERS IS ACCOMPANIED BY CRYSTALLISATION. WHEN USING THE FINITE ELEMENT METHOD FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEM, IT IS SUPPOSED THAT IN EACH ELEMENT CRYSTALLISATION OCCURS INDEPENDENTLY OF SIMILAR PROCESSES IN THE OTHER ELEMENTS. THE STUDY CONCERNS THE COOLING OF MOLTEN BATHS OF POLYETHYLENE-TEREPHTALATES AND POLYAMIDE 6.6. A COMPUTER PROGRAM HAS BEEN PREPARED BY WHICH THE OPTIMUM CONDITION COULD BE DETERMINED FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF THERMOPLASTIC POLYMERS.
