Summary

A model describing the sorptive transfers through garments was built and computed. It differentiates the inter-fibrous gas from the fibrous material, conversely to Gibson's model used for comparison. The fabric capillary is not considered. A theory concerning the sorptive function in case of frequent renewals of the confined air in one side of the fabric was established. It shows the reality of small transfers, supplementary to the diffusive ones, which leads to a discussion about Barnes' and Holcombe's works.
