Status of research and development in rotary and reciprocating compressors for refrigeration and air conditioning in Japan.

Summary

In the paper, the present status of CFC and HCFC replacement in Japan are reviewed. The present status of the development of rotary compressors is also reviewed in comparison with the author's 1984 predictions. Trends in the research and development of rotary and reciprocating compressors in Japan are also described by reviewing rolling piston compressors, scroll compressors, screw compressors, and reciprocating compressors. Finally, present efforts in the development of turbo compressors are discussed.
