Stochastic modelling of building heating and cooling systems.

Summary
The investigation has afforded a means of direct comparison between a dynamic model operated in both stochastic (Markov) and time-series modes. Results of simulation runs showed that a reduction in execution time can be obtained with Markov modelling; this would be most significant with simulation periods of one year or longer. A most significant factor in the application of Markov modelling is the compromise between reduction in execution time and the accuracy of the simulation.
