Summary

COMPARISON OF THE YIELD OF PLANTS STORED IN A COLD ROOM SINCE THE AUTUMN PRECEDING PLANTING AND OF FRESH PLANTS OF NINE STRAWBERRY CULTIVARS IN SWITZERLAND. THESE TESTS SHOWED THE IMPORTANCE OF THE OPTIMUM PLANTING DATE, WHICH FOR COLD STORED PLANTS VARIES WITH THE SITE, THE ALTITUDE AND THE SELECTED CULTIVAR. FRESH PLANTS GIVE BETTER RESULTS, PROVIDED PLANTING IS DONE BETWEEN JULY 20 AND 30 AND THEY ARE SETTLED IMMEDIATELY AFTER LIFTING ; IN ADDITION, THEY OFFER BETTER WINTER RESISTANCE. G.G.
