Summary

THERMAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ICE STORAGE TANK OF THE ICE-ON-COIL TYPE WERE STUDIED WITH MODEL TANK EXPERIMENTS. USING A SIMPLE MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR THE ICE MELTING PROCESS, A SET OF DIMENSIONLESS NUMBERS WAS INTRODUCED. REGRESSIVE EQUATIONS BASED ON THE EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS HAVE BEEN PROPOSED TO PREDICT ICE STORAGE PERFORMANCES.
