Summary

A THEORY OF MIXED STATE OF A NEW CLASS OF LAYERED MATERIALS, VIZ LAYERED METALS, IS CONSTRUCTED. THE AUTHOR SHOWS THAT IN SUCH SYSTEMS THERE MAY APPEAR ABRIKOSOV'S EDDY LATTICES LOCALIZED ALONG THE MAGNETIC FIELD. WHEN THE MAGNETIC FIELD IS PARALLEL TO THE LAYERS, THE ORIGINATING SUPERCONDUCTING STATE TAKES THE FORM OF A SERIES OF PARALLEL SUPERCONDUCTING PLATES. THE ENERGIES OF SUCH STATES AND THEIR MAGNETIC MOMENTS ARE FOUND.
